On Tuesday, May 30th, the HSC President, Prof. Ioannis Daglis, and members of the HSC Scientific Personnel visited ELFON LTD where they were given a tour of its premises and facilities by the Business Development Director of the company Mr. Nikolas Giannoulakis. 

Announcement of an Open International Tender for Framework Agreement

In the context of the “Earth Observation Satellite Mission Planning Service” Project which has been recently included in the Recovery and Resilience Fund (RRF) for Greece (OPS code TA 5201107), the Hellenic Space Center announces an Open International Electronic Tender for a Framework Agreement for the sub-project (A /A 1) “Earth Observation Satellite Mission Planning Service”. Career Day in Space Technologies, Applications and Services Made in Greece

The Rector of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the Inter-Institutional Graduate Program in “Space Technologies, Applications and Services” and the Undergraduate Program in “Aerospace Science and Technology” are organizing the Career Day in Space Technologies, Applications and Services Made in Greece for their students. The event was scheduled to take place on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 with a start time of 09.00 am. and has been postponed. The new event date will be soon announced. Learn more

International award for “The [uncertain] four seasons” concert

The ALPHA MISSION-Delos concert “The [uncertain] four seasons”, which was broadcasted live on May 30th across Europe, won the award for best TV concert at the 59th Golden Prague International Festival. The concert was co-produced by the World Human Forum and ARTE/ZDF in partnership with the Hellenic Space Center, Europa Nostra, the National Centre for Natural Sciences Research “Demokritos”, the Hellenic Foundation for Culture, the Athens Concert Hall and in collaboration with the Ephorate of Antiquities of Cyclades . The artistic partner of the event was the European Union Youth Orchestra.

The Hellenic Space Center pays its earnest respects to Dionysis Simopoulos, one of the most prominent faces of Science Communication in Greece. For over 50 years, Dionysis Simopoulos has immersed the Greek audience into the wonders of Space, in the most professional manner. He will be greatly missed but not forgotten.

Vangelis Papathanasiou

The Hellenic Space Center, together with the Greek Space community, pay our last respects to Vangelis, the composer who connected his music to Planetary Exploration and completed the beauty of Space. A Greek that honoured and supported our country when needed. His music will always accompany humanity’s journeys to the unknown.
