The Hellenic Parliament’s Foundation for Parliamentarism and Democracy and the Hellenic Space Center are organizing a two-day event on “Stars in the Park. A discussion with the experts” on Friday June 30 and Saturday July 1, 2023, at the conference center of the National Reconciliation Park (Livadia Kotylis, Grammos). From today until June 28th, the 16th Conference of the Hellenic Astronomical Society (Hel.A.S.) is being held, celebrating the 30th anniversary of its foundation. The Hellenic Space Center is among the supporters of the Conference. During the Conference, several social events will be held for the general public.
On Tuesday, June 20th, the President of the HSC, Prof. Ioannis Daglis, delivered a talk on the “Responsibilities, Mandate and Vision of the Hellenic Space Center” at the “3rd International Workshop on Space-Based Lidar Remote Sensing Techniques and Emerging Technologies” in Milos, Greece.
In March, the European Space Agency announced that 2023 would see the publication of over 300 vacancies at ESA. New vacancies keep being published as ESA continues its search for talented and motivated professionals to join its teams across Europe and support its mission of the peaceful exploration of space for the benefit of everyone. The Hellenic Space Center accepted an invitation by the 5th Primary School of Salamina, to carry out educational activities on Space Technology and Exploration.
On Tuesday, June 6, students learned about the basic states of a virtual Mars exploration missions, and performed an exercise including building a robotic rover, conducting an experiment with soil samples, and launching a rocket.
The purpose of the HSC’s educational activity was to bring children in contact with space technologies, satellite technology, spaceship structure, space exploration, etc.
