Visit of Vice Minister Theodore Livanios at the HSC

On Tuesday, October 19th, 2021, the vice minister of Digital Governance, Mr. T. Livanios, visited the Hellenic Space Center and met with the President and members of the Board of Directors. Mr. Livanios and his associates were briefed on the Center’s activities, and discussed the HSC proposal for the design, development and implementation of a small nano-satellite cluster and related ground segment, aimed at providing a variety of Earth Observation services.

Visit to the European Astronaut Center

On Friday, October 8th, 2021, the President and the CEO of the Hellenic Space Center, Prof. Ioannis A. Daglis and Dr. Nick Sergis, visited the premises of the European Astronaut Centre (EAC) in Cologne, where they had the opportunity to meet with the Head of the Centre, Dr. Frank De Winne, from whom they were briefed on the activities of the EAC, while they also discussed a framework of cooperation with emphasis on the potential participation of students and young scientists from Greece in training programs at EAC.

Afterwards, Dr. Ruth Hemmersbach, Head of the Department of Gravitational Biology and Acting Head of the German Aerospace Center Institute of Aerospace Medicine, offered them a tour around the Institute, presented the facilities and explained the various projects of the Institute.

HSC and OHB-Hellas meeting

The President and the CEO of the Hellenic Space Center, Prof. Ioannis A. Daglis and Dr. Nick Sergis, had a meeting with Dr. A. Panopoulou, Managing Director of OHB-Hellas and M. Bernou, CTO and Deputy Manager of OHB-Hellas. The meeting took place at the HSC premises and was focused on OHB-Hellas activities and potential synergies with the Greek Space ecosystem.

Virtual meeting of HSC and DLR

The President and the CEO of the Hellenic Space Center, Prof. Ioannis A. Daglis and Dr. Nick Sergis, held a virtual meeting with Dr. Walther Pelzer, Head of the German Space Agency, and Christian Müller, ESA/EU advisor at the German Aerospace Center, and discussed topics of mutual interest in the context of opportunities for future collaboration.
